Blue droplets

The recent challenges related to COVID-19 have increased the burden of our brothers and

sisters in Christ already living at or below the poverty line, like Native Americans on reservations,

many of whom lack basic necessities like running water and electricity, necessary to maintain health and safety protocols to prevent illness.

We can help. The Navajo Water Project is helping to install wells, in conjunction with Dig Deep. 100% of donations go directly to providing clean, running water to the 2.2 million Americans who lack this basic necessity, starting with those on Navajo reservations.

If you feel called to help, please mail a check (P.O. Box 5452, Elgin, Illinois 60121) made out to St. Hugh with “water” in the notation section, or GIVE ONLINE specifying "Use this donation for" as "Outreach", and entering "water project" as a note. Donations for this project will be collected until November 28.

Why donate through us? We can double your gift! We have received a generous, anonymous offer for a donation match of $1000 for this project. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to raise funds to help make the coming winter more a safe one for others by providing them with clean, running water?

Rector's Class: Sundays at 9am.

Beginning Sunday, 9/19, we are beginning a study of

"The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World,"

by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmund Tutu along with Douglas Abrams. The book is available on several sites and a free pdf can be found here.

Class will meet in St. Hugh's Wiedrich Hall and on Zoom.

In-person participants will be wearing masks.

in-person worship service

Our 8:00 AM an 10:30 services will be hybrid services. This means there will be in-person worshipers AND the service will be on Zoom for those wishing to remain remote.

Registration is no longer required to attend services.

For the health and safety of our congregation, the following will also be observed:

  • Worshipers are expected to stay home if they have any symptoms associated with COVID-19.

  • Masks covering nose and mouth are required in all spaces at all times.

  • Social distancing will be observed in all parts of the building.

On Sunday, you’ll see notes in the service bulletin and hear announcements regarding upcoming events, but you can also stay informed by following us on Facebook! If you’re not a social media user, contact us to be added to our email list and receive the latest communications from the church office, including our monthly digital newsletter, The Voice of the Swan.
